Workshop #2. Go-to-market, sales and monetization. How do you make money of your business model?

The workshop will be held at Startupbootcamp Mobile, Danneskiold-Samsøes Allé 41, 3rd floor, 1434 Copenhagen K, Denmark, on May 8, from 10-16. The doors will open at 09.30, where we will serve coffee and refreshments. The program starts at 10 sharp.
How will your game make money? Are you going freemium or using a paid model? Do you expect to find a publisher? How do you plan to advertise?
Odds are you have already faced some of these questions. If not, it’s about time. From the outset of your product design you should have your target market in mind, and have some idea about how, when and where your game will make money for your company.
At the Growing Games Workshop on May 8, we take on some of the key issues involved in designing your business model – your monetization strategy and your go-to-market strategy. Whether you are going for a publisher deal, a model with in-game or in-app purchase, ad-based revenue or something altogether different the bottom line is you need to know, how to make money on your product.
What you will take away from the event:

Sparring sessions: Your choice of content
As the issues of building a model for monetization, marketing your product and distributing it involves many different challenges, we will split up part of the workshop in focused sparring sessions. The sessions will allow you to choose the theme that interests you the most and have an in-depth discussion with our mentors and the other participants.
You will choose one session from a list of three, where each has a specific focus. Each session will focus on identifying key challenges and propose ways to dealing with them.

Meet Jonathan Wisler from SoftLayer, Henrik Riis from watAgame, Sebastian Warnez, Business Development Manager
Jonathan Wisler, General Manager EMEA at SoftLayer, an IBM company, is a seasoned entrepreneur, mentor and investor working in the fields of games, software and consumer technology. His company, SoftLayer, is an innovation leader in on-demand Dedicated Cloud and Managed Hosting. Jonathan joins Growing Games to share his experience with sustainable models for monetization and building growth companies based as well as key trends in the digital industries.
Henrik Riis, CEO of watAgame, has been developing social media games for kids over the past 10 years. Through his experience with their core product GoSupermodel, he has extensive experience with entering international and global markets as well as forming the strategy for monetization. Henrik joins Growing Games to share his recent experience with further development of their monetization strategy for the mobile market.
Sebastian Warnez is former Business Development Manager at Full Control and has developed and shipped over 50 titles across PC, Web, Console, Mobile and TV platforms, during the last +10 years. Sebastian Warnez has a strong managerial and international background, and a consistent track record of delivering games within tight timeframes and budget. Sebastian will be our guide to everything there is to know about publishers.
