Secure a competitive edge by understanding the market that you plan to enter. Demonstrate that you’ve analysed your market. It will be important when you seek funding for your business. An understanding of your end user will increase your product’s chances of success.

It’s worth taking the time to profile your customers, determine the strengths/weaknesses of your competitors and decide where the potential risks are in your market. You don’t necessarily need to do months of research, but it’s important to specify your target market early on as it narrows your focus and concentrates your efforts. It will also enable you to estimate the size of your customer base.

MEET Chris Benjaminsen, Founder and game maker @ FRVR. Benjaminsen is entrepreneur, developer and founder of FRVR, a small company developing a range of mobile games.

As former CPO and Co-Founder of PlayerScale, aquired by Yahoo in 2013, and former Director of Product & Monetization, Benjaminsen represents a solid understanding of how to make money on games.

MEET Jeppe Bisbjerg, Vice President Production @ KILOO. Bisbjerg have been head of production on multiple blockbuster titles for the handheld markets. We say Subway Surfers, Smash Champs, Spellbinders, Frisbee Forever and you get the drift. Over the years, he's been facilitating a number of projects from initial idea, team assembly and conceptual phase through full production right up to launch.
